The E46 Coupe Fender Flares were developed by Strom to meet the needs of their race program when existing flare options simply did not fit or perform the way we wanted. After multiple CAD revisions and extensive 3D printed prototyping, these flares were finalized to match the E46 coupe body perfectly and provide a clean, functional, and easy to install solution.
Originally created for the Strom B46 race cars, these flares address several fitment issues found with other designs and allow significantly larger wheel and tire packages. We now bond the flares instead of riveting them and they have held up extremely well under real track use.
Each flare set is manufactured from thermoformed ABS plastic which makes them lightweight, durable, and able to withstand the demands of racing.
Tire Fitment Examples
Tire fitment varies depending on suspension choice, alignment, and wheel specs, but the following combinations have been successfully run on B46 powered cars. Note that we use Ohlins TTX Pro dampers which have a larger diameter front strut.
18 x 10.5 ET32 square with a 280 650 Yokohama slick and twelve millimeter front and twenty millimeter rear spacers
18 x 10.5 with a 275 35 18 Bridgestone RE71RS
18 x 10.5 ET25 with a 295 30 18 Yokohama A052
18 x 11 with a 295 30 18. This requires minor work on the front. Rear fitment is easy. Fitment depends on your strut brand and camber settings.
Vehicle Fitment
The flares follow the factory body lines on the 2001 through 2003 E46 330 coupe. They may fit the later LCI coupe but we have not tested this. They are shaped to sit correctly over the rear 330ci bumper. If preferred the flare can be trimmed to meet the bumper line.
