The STROM B48D Oil Cooler Plate allows you to add a true external oil cooler to your B48D or B46D engine. This precisely machined plate replaces the factory water to oil heat exchanger and reroutes the engine oil to a front mounted cooler for significantly improved oil and coolant temperature control. It is an ideal upgrade for track cars, high power builds, or any vehicle experiencing elevated oil temperatures.
The plate can be purchased on its own or with the low profile fittings used on our B46 race car. These include eight AN banjo fittings and hollow bolts designed to keep the assembly as compact as possible where space around the engine is limited. The plate itself features M16 by 1.5 millimeter threaded ports. If packaging is not a concern you can also use standard AN adapters to create your own eight or ten AN oil lines.
This plate fits any vehicle that uses the BMW 11428580414 oil filter housing. A new gasket is not included because BMW does not sell the gasket separately.
